Went with a good friend of mine. Perfect on a cold winter day. I got the black ramen. It was flavorful and filling, but not heavy. Generous portion size with plenty of toppings. The food is satisfying and doesn't put you into a food coma, which I prefer. They were quick to seat us at the counter and give us our waters. Polite and attentive. I do wish the space had a few more tables for two people dining together.

Overall, a cute place with nice decor and attentive service. The ramen was just okay, nothing special but not bad either. You're able to pick between straight and wavy noodles.

Food: Ordered the Japanese buns, kara-age and ramen dishes x 2. Overall the meals were delicious and felt perfect that cold night! My favorite thing here though was the nigori- Niwa no Uguisu "Doburoku". It is definitely on the thicker end if you've tried enough nigori but that creamy taste profile was just amazing and something I never had before! Cost: Typical cost of ramen in NYC, pretty standard/average. Environment: This place fills up quickly! Theres a decent amount of seating available inside/along the bar however it gets filled up so fast that when we arrived, there was a waiting line already. Service: Beverly here is great! She knows what she's doing and she's always on the lookout to make sure people are seated/taking names down! She's' amazing and honestly she was the highlight of our dinner experience! Uniqueness: Great food, nice ambience, delicious nigori!

Love ir. It is worthy to go and taste this ramen. The complex flavors of the ramen make it an unique expirience

The broth alone is award winning. The rich black garlic broth is amazing and hard to describe and has to simply be tasted. The savor undertones of the pork is crested over with waves of aged garlic, bursting bold punches to your taste buds. The spicy tan tan chicken broth is no slouch either. The noodles cooked to perfection with luscious roasted pork chashu lathered on top. We've come for lunch a few times here. There is a rush hour around lunch time where it is hard to get a seat in the limited seating options. There are a handful of tables inside with seating at the bar, but if you come outside of the lunch time rush either right before or right after you will be awarded with a seat and one of the best ramen in the city. This place has cool intimate vibes both during the day and at night. A great place to each. Don't forget to ask for extra noodles to create a second helping in the broth once your dish runs out.

You heard it here folks: this is the best ramen in town. When I come to nyc we have to eat here every time. I tried the black garlic ramen for the first time this trip and it was amazing. The tan tan is always a good choice as well. They have beer and other drinks, and service is fast. It's popular so you may have to wait outside until a space is available but it is worth it. So good!!!

Hole in a wall. Two steps up into a rectangular room with a table for four on the left and several tables of two. Then the bar stretches on the left with multiple bar stools. I sat in front of neon lit back wall with shot glasses. Cute. One server, came at midnight so no wait. Sat down for 1 and ordered the black ramen with thin noodles. Fairly quick, decently sized. One that doesn't make you quiver and over eat. It was the perfect amount. Holy crap, noodles were so fresh. And so good. Wasnt heavy at all and the broth was just on the verge of being too salty but excellent. Black garlic wasnt overwhelming like other ones you order and the broth is black. I ordered a orion to wash it down which was bottled. Preferred draft but oh well! Overall it was good and quick. Would come back next time! Orion and garlic ramen came out to about $30.

The great update has come. I am so impressed by Nishida ShoTen that I am rushing this out on my phone. This place is the real deal people. They have a SLAM DUNK black kakuni ramen that strikes the right amount of salt and garlic, the egg was absolutely perfect. Nishida Sho-ten is also home to the most chill and best waiters and waitresses. Nobody feels rushed, stressed or any of that and are happy to make conversation, and the music they choose creates the most relaxed ramen slurping ambience I've ever experienced. It legitimately feels like what I'd imagine a friendly 1am ramen spot would provide. Proud to have what I think is the best Ramen in all of New York. I sat on this update for about 4 years and have had every almost Ramen you can think of in the city by now, from Ichiran in Brooklyn to NR on the Upper East Side to Peng's Noodle Folk for a close second best (theirs is a wild chinese-japanese fusion ramen) -- Every bowl, every appetizer from Nishida Sho-ten is a masterpiece packed with flavor, and they nail it every. single. time. Two dozen visits, and it has not changed. No misses here, folks. Just pure, consistent ramen bliss.

A small hole in the wall spot with great food, great service and great vibe. Everything is extremely flavorful and quick to come out. Since it is such a small estalbishment, there could be a wait if you come at peak lunch/dinner times.
